The Construction Confidence Index (ICST), measured by the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV), dropped 1.4 points from April to May this year. As a result, the indicator reached 96.3 points, on a scale from zero to 200 points.
The Current Situation Index, which measures the confidence of the construction business at present, dropped 1.9 points and reached 92.5 points, mainly influenced by the worsening of businessmen’s assessments of the current business situation.
The Expectations Index, which measures the perception of entrepreneurs about the future, dropped 0.7 point and reached 100.3 points, mainly due to the perspectives on demand in the next three months.
The Capacity Utilization Level (Nuci) of construction was relatively stable, changing 0.2 percentage point to 76%.
