President Iván Duque confirmed the death of Juan Larinson Castro Estupiñan, alias ‘Matamba’, one of the top leaders of the ‘Clan del Golfo’ and who escaped from La Picota prison in Bogotá on March 18.
According to information provided by President Duque, ‘Matamba’ was neutralized in Bolívar (Santander).
The death of alias ‘Matamba’ adds to the blows against the ‘Clan del Golfo’, after the extradition of Dairo Antonio Úsuga David, alias ‘Otoniel’ to the United States and the authorization for the extradition of his sister and 16 other members of that criminal group.

It should be mentioned, that this week the death of ‘Gentil Duarte’, top leader of the Farc dissidents, was known, after an attack with explosives by another group outside the law in Zulia state in Venezuela.
Intelligence information points out that alias ‘Jhon Mechas’, another of the FARC dissident chiefs, would also have fallen in that action.
