“Thanks to the trust of the victims in the institution to denounce, we went from charging an average of 152 aggressors per month in 2019, to 218 aggressors in 2022, every month. This means an increase of 43%”, pointed out the prosecutor during the Results Report of the Alert for Violence against Women.
In the case of femicide, the same number of victims remained in 2020 and 2021, while in 2022 there were seven fewer femicides, which represents a reduction of 26.92% compared to the January-April period of the previous two years.
In intentional homicides with female victims, the decrease was 42.85% in the first four months of 2022, when 35 cases were registered, compared to the same period in 2020 with 20 cases.
In the total number of violent deaths of women, the Prosecutor’s Office reported 36% less, going from 61 to 39 cases.
