The general strike in Colón reached its 17th this Wednesday, despite the fact that the leadership of the Unity Coalition for Colón (CUCO) met on Tuesday afternoon with the Minister in charge of Labor and Labor Development, Roger Tejada, to discuss the issue. salary and job creation for the settlers.

The CUCO leader, Edgardo Voitier, explained that what has motivated the continuation of this strike is the salary offer that the Government has proposed. “We are waiting for the Government to improve this offer, what we are looking for is that the jobs be guaranteed and we do not want the Government to keep the training, in addition, we do not like the amount that is being proposed for the training that it’s $150 per month and that’s not enough; the government can improve that offer,” he said.
