Flor Torrijos points out that costs of leaving the ports for fishermen have increased due to the rise in gasoline

In the morning hours of this Wednesday, a group of artisanal fishermen from the country will meet with authorities from the Ministry of Agricultural Development (Mida) and the Aquatic Resources Authority of Panama (ARAP), to seek alternatives to the impact of the high fuel cost.

Flor Torrijos, general administrator of the ARAP, indicated that currently the entity has issued 5,527 artisanal fishing licenses, and that for some months they have been listening to these people pointing out that the cost of fishing trips had doubled in the city. capital and nearby ports such as Coquira.

As for the ports in the interior of the country, this cost of departure is tripling due to the rise in gasoline.

The theme of this meeting will be to find a solution or relief to the high cost of fuel, in which representatives of the General Secretary of Energy will participate, who will explain the behavior of fuel, in addition to the Ombudsman’s Office as mediator.
