The Superintendency of Banks (SB) and the toronto center they signed a agreement through which the Canadian institution undertakes to provide advice and support to improve and strengthen its technical structure for the supervision of financial and exchange brokerage entities.
According to a press release, the agreement was signed virtually by the Superintendent of Banks, Alejandro Fernández W., and the President and Executive Director of the toronto centerBabak Abbaszadeh, who stated that both institutions will collaborate closely to improve the supervisory capacity of the Dominican entity.
The agreement plans the review of the supervision methodology, the optimization of the processes and information reports required from the financial intermediation entities (EIF), the creation of mechanisms for the consultation of the supervised entities, the identification of the needs in terms of information technologies, the training of SB personnel and the establishment of mechanisms to ensure quality.
The intention is that this collaboration allows the SB early identification of emerging, systemic and non-systemic risks that financial intermediation entities may experience.
