Santo Domingo.- The National Meteorological Office (Onamet) reported this Wednesday that due to the persistence of a trough, occasional downpours will continue, with electrical storms and gusts of wind in some sectors, so the levels of alerts and weather warnings are maintained.
Meteorology predicted that these precipitations will be more frequent in the afternoon towards the northwest, north, northeast, southeast, Cordillera Central and border regions.
Due to the rains that have occurred and those that are expected, the Onamet, maintains alert levels and meteorological warnings in the event of possible rural and urban flooding, flooding of rivers, streams and ravines, as well as landslides.

The provinces that remain on meteorological alert are: Santiago Rodríguez, Santo Domingo, San Pedro de Macorís, Monte Plata, San Juan de la Maguana and María Trinidad Sánchez.
The governing body of the climate informed that for tomorrow, Thursday, a higher humidity content will be established in our forecast area, brought from the Caribbean Sea by the low-level southeast winds, said situation will be added to the dominant instability of the trough, the which, will still be displayed on the Dominican geography, therefore, in the evening period, favorable conditions for cloudy evolution, causing moderate downpours that may be strong in isolated areas, electrical storms and gusts of wind, especially in localities of the eastern plain, Eastern Sierra, Central Cordillera and in the border area.
