“It is a native species, it has the possibility or the capacity to be very long-lived, it can live up to 2,000 years, it has great resilience,” the official said in an interview.
He added that the Ahuehuete is a tree native to Mexico and can be found from southern Texas to Guatemala under different environmental conditions, which makes it ideal to occupy the space in the roundabout of Paseo de la Reforma and Niza.
“The ahuehuete has an important size and the ability to resist the attacks of a city like Mexico City and many factors that can stress the trees such as those that normally occur in Reforma and there are ideal conditions for the tree to fully develop. ”, he exposed.
