SANTO DOMINGO.- The National Meteorological Office (Onamet) reported this Tuesday that the weather conditions will remain influenced by a trough that manifests itself in the middle and upper troposphere, which will be destabilizing the atmosphere over the country, which will cause especially in the afternoon , showers that could be moderate to heavy locally, thunderstorms and gusty winds.
These precipitations will be more evident on the regions northeast, southeast, Cordillera Central and the border area.
Due to the rains that have occurred and those that are expected, Meteorology increased the number of provinces on meteorological warning to four and maintains three on meteorological alert for possible rural and urban flooding, flooding of rivers, streams and ravines.
The provinces on alert are: San José de Ocoa, Sánchez Ramírez and Santiago Rodríguez. While the weather warning is maintained for Hato Mayor, La Vega, Monseñor Nouel and Santiago.
For tomorrow, Wednesday, the governing body of the climate reported that we will continue under the effects of the troughtherefore, the continuation of the downpours that will turn from moderate to strong with electrical storms and gusts of wind over localities of the eastern Cibao valley, the Caribbean coastal plain, the Central mountain range and the border area, mainly in afternoon hours.
“The concentrations of particles of Saharan Dust, They arrive in our country in different quantities, especially in summer until the beginning of autumn, due to the trade winds and the passage of tropical waves, which can generate the risk of respiratory infections, eye irritation, among others,” reported Onamet.
