The deputy of the Patria Querida Party, Sebastián García, the main promoter of this proposal, explained that the Commission for the Future aims to “create a space for conversation, debate and opinion, on medium and long-term State policies, to talk about the future of employment, education, urban planning and other innovations”.
According to García, this initiative is necessary to “analyze issues that transcend a single period of government, and that often, due to the political situation, cannot be studied in depth,” he said.
Finally, the PPQ legislator and president of the Science and Technology Commission pointed out that “this type of organization is common in several countries around the world, in order to have strategic planning for the future,” he concluded.
The act of official formation of the Future Commission will be held on Thursday, May 26, in the session room of the Chamber of Deputies.
