The Minister of the Environment, Modesto Montoyacompared the President of the Republic, Pedro Castillo, with the coach of the Peruvian soccer team, Ricardo Garecafor the change of ministers that took place last Sunday, May 22.
The member of the ministerial cabinet assured that Castillo Terrones knows how to govern and did not rule out that in some “opportune moment” decide to change him or some other minister.
“President Castillo is the one who evaluates, surely at the right moment he can change me or anyone else. I trust him because he is an intelligent man, a man who knows how to govern, but also it is necessary to understand that we are in a period of progress and evolution and the president is fine-tuning. Even ‘Tigre’ Gareca is improving, they are not always the same, there are always changes”, he declared to the press.

Likewise, Montoya maintained that the cabinets that have been changed during the first months of the Government have been due to an interaction of the Congress with the Executive.
“The five (four) cabinets are due to this interaction between the Congress and the Executive. Congress has to evaluate because it is its obligationbut you have to have a bit of restraint when you go, don’t insult”, expressed the head of the Ministry of the Environment.

The new cabinet members are: John Barranzuela (Ministry of Transport and Communications), replacing Nicolás Bustamante; Alessandra Herrera (Minem), replacing Carlos Palacios; John Maple (Ministry of Agrarian Development), replacing Óscar Zea; Y Dimitri Senmache (Ministry of the Interior), replacing Alfonso Chávarry.
