Barboza insists that the United Platform seeks to be broad and include all the opposition

Omar Barboza believes that the approval of the regulations that govern the Unitary Platform is a “good step”. He clarified that all those who join will be treated with respect and their opinions will be considered.

The executive secretary of the Democratic Unity Platform, Omar Barboza, assured this Tuesday, May 24, that the first thing to do is correct the errors that were made at the Unity Table in order to be able to achieve the objective set for more of 20 years, the holding of truly free elections to bring about a change in the administration of the country.

He insisted on holding primary elections in which not only the 10 parties that make up this political coalition so far, but also all opposition forces feel attracted to participate and remain in a kind of front to oppose the Executive, “with all the guarantees of inclusion of all those who want to participate” and that ultimately leads to a peaceful solution to the crisis through democratic processes.

Barboza, in an interview granted to the Circuit Hitspointed out that those who appointed him in the role he now plays “know him very well” and stressed that he is a person who does not seek confrontation, but rather agreements and solutions.

Regarding the meeting that was held in Panama to carry out his appointment and discuss other issues, the politician considers that those who had to participate were there because, in his opinion, in Venezuela it is difficult to do so with the possible leaks and espionage of those who can politicians be victims.

He believes that the approval of the regulation that governs the Unitary Platform is a “good step” and therefore stresses that it is necessary to “expand the political alliance” to all those who want to join, extending invitations to parties such as Vente Venezuela or the Alianza del Pencil, let them do it. In this sense, he stressed that if they accept the invitation they will be treated “with respect” and their opinions “considered.”

Omar Barboza made it clear that all the factors of the opposition are important for the Unitary Platform to be successful and said that there are already appointments to meet and discuss the issue. He indicated that in addition to being broad and inclusive, they will also handle situations with humility and rectify what is necessary.

On the other hand, he stressed that there is still no specific date to resume the talks in Mexico and that they are waiting for the reactivation of the negotiating table. However, he noted that there are good expectations that they will be resumed soon.
