In the first instance, Police Public Order Control (COP) personnel helped control the flames using the water launcher car. Then firefighters arrived to control the emergency.
The incident recorded yesterday was not the only one that happened in Santiago. So-called white overalls burned two public transport buses: one in Cumming and the other at the intersection of Alameda and Serrano.
The Government Spokesperson Minister, Camila Vallejopointed out that the events recorded on Monday “are absolutely regrettable”
“We have said it as a government, we do not want violence, violence harms our democracy and those who think that through the burning of public transport, the burning of a public high school, they benefit the workers, are very wrong,” he said.
Let us remember that the CEIN had already reported the termination of the occupation in mid-May, due to “serious acts of violence” recorded inside the high school. However, students insisted on taking it, which was deposed again.
