British choreographer Ben Stevenson will put his talent at the disposal of the National Ballet of Cuba (BNC) with the preparation, soon, of a program of his works, according to official media reports on the Island.
Stevenson, Officer of the British Empire and outstanding dance personality in recent decades, will lead a work team in charge of an agenda of performances to commemorate 120 years of diplomatic relations between the United Kingdom and the Caribbean country, in accordance with a space from the agency Latin Press (PL).
Also, the season of scheduled presentations from June 10 to 19 at the National theaterin Havana, will celebrate the monarch’s Platinum Jubilee Isabel II (70 years of his reign), adds the medium.

The repertoire signed by Stevenson will include his renowned version of the pas de deux “Esmeralda” and “Three Preludes”. according to the information provided by the company directed by the prima ballerina Viengsay Valdés.
Details the statement reviewed by PL that the National Ballet will also perform the piece “Requiem”, inspired by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Requiem, in which the Cuban company will share the stage with soloists and the choir of the National Lyric Theater.
The team of the British choreographer, currently director of the Texas Ballet Theater, It will have the experience of the associate director of the school attached to that entity, Kathryn Warakomsky-Li, and the assistant artistic director Li Anlin, underlines the agency.
According to PLThe delegation of foreign artists is completed by the dancers Valentín Batista, David Schrenk and Henry Winn, who will perform as guest soloists of the National Ballet of Cuba, recognized as Cultural Heritage of the largest of the Antilles.
