Jorge Querey, national senator for the Guasu Front, reported that this Thursday, May 26, 10 points will be discussed on the Agenda. Among them, foreign relations issues, confirmation of ambassadors, constitutional agreements for posthumous promotions, in addition to a bill that seeks to standardize banking secrecy.
“The point that modifies the organic law of the Central Bank, known as banking secrecy. The objective is not to withdraw banking secrecy but rather to standardize the reports that the Prosecutor’s Office or Congress may receive,” explained the legislator.
The goal is not to repeat the experience that occurred in the first days of April. When the Central Bank of Paraguay (BCP), submitted a report requested by Congress, on the money laundering case of Darío Messer and the banking actions of former President Horacio Cartes. However, the pages contained scratches that make it impossible to see practically all the content.
“Two projects are going to be unified. Basically it is testing or deleting the part that says information for third parties. The possibility should be given to Congress or the Public Ministry that they can investigate. Currently they only deliver with a court order,” he noted.
The “revolving door” bill and the one that installs the hitman as a figure of the Penal Code are also on the Agenda.
