The President of the Republic, Gabriel Boric, addressed the police operation carried out by the Government in the Meiggs neighborhood. In this regard, he stated that the objective is “to recover public spaces and assert the rule of law and the rule of law.”
Within the framework of the promulgation ceremony of the increase in the minimum wage, the President explained that the protection of SMEs is also related to the security agenda.
“Taking advantage of the fact that issues inevitably get mixed up here, how do we protect commerce and society, deep down from crime, from illegal commerce that often causes significant damage, particularly to small businesses,” he said.
“And I want to highlight how all these policies are linked, for example, with the multidisciplinary intervention that took place in the Meiggs neighborhood, and that will continue during all these months, regarding the acts of violence that we have seen there,” he emphasized. .
In this sense, the President pointed out that the reason for these operations “is something that we do precisely with this perspective, that of a more dignified city, that of recovering public spaces, of asserting the rule of law and the rule of law. We work because dignity is at stake in all aspects”.
“The minimum wage is played, the security is played, the voice of the workers is also played in these spaces and not only by making instances of participation that ultimately do not result in results,” he concluded.
