The rate of urban passenger transport in the cities of Rosario, Santa Fe and Córdoba increased by 17% as of this Monday, and thus the value of the ticket went on to cost $69.50 in the three districts.
The same percentage increase was applied in the three cities by decision of their respective mayors, who agreed “manage the arrival of more national subsidies that allow unlocking the parity of the interior and guarantee the operation of the service”, sources indicated.
The mayors of these three large urban centers indicated that the increase in the ticket “is below the inflationary process that the country is going through” and they also focused on “the still unresolved inequity in the distribution of national subsidies in relation to the AMBA.”
From the Cordovan municipality, in the same sense, it was expressed that “the claim to the national government for a federal ticket and greater equity in the distribution of resources in transportation” was ratified.
“The new rate is applied since the three cities expected a greater contribution from the Nation as a transport subsidy, equaling its value to $18 as paid in the city of Buenos Aires. This was established in a joint document that ratifies the claim, “said the mayor of the Cordovan capital.
According to the latest cost study carried out by the Rosario Mobility Entity (EMR), the price of the ticket should be $105.60, significantly above current values. In that sense, they stressed that “the difference will be absorbed by the municipalities and companies.”
Among the factors that affect the cost of the ticket, they considered as “determining” the advance of inflation, and pointed out that the 50% increase in fuel so far this year “represents the greatest impact on the system, added to the constant increases of the main inputs, such as the maintenance of the units and the salaries of the personnel”.
