PUERTO PLATA .- The judges of the Collegiate Court of this city sentenced a man to 20 years in prison for having sexually raped a seven-year-old girl.
The defendant Roberto Escolástico La Luz must serve his sentence at the San Felipe Correction and Rehabilitation Center.
In the trial, the Puerto Plata Prosecutor’s Office was represented by the prosecutor Ana Mariela Hernández, who presented the evidence that served as support for the court to pronounce the sentence.
The accusation was instrumented by Humberto Pascual Almengó who proved that the convicted person abused the minor on several occasions.
The criminal prosecution body described La Luz’s actions as a violation of various articles of Law 136-03, which protects the fundamental rights of children and adolescents.
