The CAMe announces suspension of the environmental contingency in the Valley of Mexico

The fifth contingency of the year

The CAMe activated the environmental contingency on Friday, May 20, due to the fact that at 3:00 p.m. maximum ozone concentrations were recorded that exceeded 154 ppb in two monitoring stations.

In a statement, the agency reported that 160 ppb were registered in the Cuajimalpa stations and in Santa Fe (157 ppb), both located in the Cuajimalpa mayor’s office.

Most of this Saturday, May 21, high ozone concentrations were reported in the 16 municipalities, the highest value was in the UAM-Iztapalapa monitoring station with 142 points.

The temperature reached 31 degrees in Mexico City and in some municipalities of the State of Mexico, as well as a wind speed of nine to 10 kilometers per hour.
