In a new covid report delivered by the Ministry of Health, it was reported that cases increased slightly in the last 24 hours, reaching 1,937 infections, of which 1,518 correspond to symptomatic people and 306 do not present symptoms. The positivity at the country level is 3.18%.
Regarding the deaths in the last 24 hours as a result of the covid, the DEIS reported 14 deaths, reaching 38,175 deaths in Chile since the start of the pandemic.
The daily positivity in the Metropolitan Region is 2% and six regions register a positivity equal to or less than 2%.
The variation of new confirmed cases at the national level is -5% and 13% for the comparison of seven and 14 days, respectively. Meanwhile, seven regions decreased their new cases in the last seven days and two did so in the last two weeks.
The total number of people who have been diagnosed with COVID-19 in the country reaches 1,749,099. Of this total, 13,659 patients are in the active stage. The recovered cases are 1,692,719.
According to sampling, the regions with the highest positivity in the last week are Aysén, Los Lagos, Valparaíso and Coquimbo. Meanwhile, the Aysén region has the highest current incidence rate per 100,000 inhabitants, followed by the Atacama, Los Lagos and Biobío regions.
To date, 654 people are hospitalized in Intensive Care Units, of which 564 are on mechanical ventilation support. In relation to the Integrated Health Network, there is a total of 200 critical beds available for the patient who requires it, regardless of the region where they are.
Regarding the Laboratory Network and the diagnostic capacity, yesterday the results of 54,478 PCR tests and antigen tests were reported, reaching a total of 25,180,549 analyzed nationwide to date. The positivity for the last 24 hours at the country level is 3.18% and in the Metropolitan Region it is 2%.
With regard to the Health Residences, we have 50 accommodation facilities, with 4,777 total beds. The real occupation nationwide is 60%, leaving a total of 1,494 beds available to be used.
