Given the evolution of the health emergency, the Municipality of Montevideo defined modifying the prevention and safety protocols in gastronomy services, food courts and supermarkets, re-enabling the operation of buffets and salad bars. Supermarkets will also be able to count on these services, according to a statement from the departmental government.
Modifications include new distances between self-service food tables and those of diners, keeping a distance of no less than 4 meters from the area of tables and chairs of the diners. Customers must also keep the mask on correctly while serving food and wandering around the premises.
It must have different protections, such as having a top and side screen while maintaining adequate protection of the food, keeping the area where the container on which the food will be served is removed protected and counting for each food with a clamp or spoon the one that cannot be exchanged, says the statement .
Just as there must be sufficient cleaning personnel in order to maintain the hygiene of said area, it will be required to maintain temperature control and a correct rotation for the different types of food offered.
Among the provisions that remain in force is having alcohol dispensers with diffuser or gel in all the spaces of circulation and permanence of the public; to have ventilation equipment, air conditioners and others that have filters; and disinfect all areas with products based on quaternary ammonium or hypochlorite.
The hours of bars in Montevideo are still restricted until 2 AM even though there are already places with a dance floor until 5 AM.
