The NMS (National Metereological Service), issued a yellow alert this Friday in several areas of the country, due to the arrival of snowfall and gusts of wind that could exceed 100 kilometers per hour (Km/h).
As reported the organismthe most affected areas will be the mountainous areas of Mendoza, the provinces of Neuquén, Río Negro, Chubut and Santa Cruz, since according to the NMS in this part of Patagonia there will be intense snowfalls.
According to NMS, For today, accumulated snow values between 20 and 45 cm high are expected.predicted that it will persist all day tomorrow, especially during the night.
In addition, in the southwest of Mendoza, the west of Neuquén, most of the provinces of Río Negro and Chubut, and the northwest of Santa Cruz, there will be strong gusts of wind.
The winds from the western sector will reach speeds between 50 and 70 kilometers per hour, with gusts that could exceed 100 kilometers per hour, according to specialists.
This situation is presented by the presence of a zonda wind, which according to the NMS it is “characteristic of western Argentina and can be very dangerous due to its intensity and the variations in temperature and humidity it generates.”
