The infections due to the SARS-CoV-2 virus identified by the Ministry of Public Health (Minsap) on Thursday totaled 61, according to the part issued by the agency and where it is added that all were by autochthonous transmission identified in contacts of confirmed cases.
5,163 samples were processed and Sancti Spíritus (10) reported the highest number of infections. The remaining provinces remained below nine, except for the eastern territories of Granma, Santiago de Cuba and Guantánamo, which did not report patients.

By age, the group made up of those under 20 closed with 28 cases and 13 were patients over 60 years of age; 12 was the number between 20 and 39 and eight between 40 and 59.
91 clinical discharges were notified and the number of people admitted as a result of COVID-19 was 1,659; of these, 317 concern confirmed active cases.
In intensive care rooms, bedridden patients totaled seven, three of them reported critical and four seriously ill.
No deaths were reported on the day, and the fatalities of the pandemic remain at 8,529 since March 2020, when the first cases were detected on the island. The lethality is 0.77%.
