Habitat for Humanity develops a program that builds or improves the housing of women entrepreneurs, so that it will serve to have a place for your business.
With this dual-purpose initiative, the entity has already impacted more than 200 women beneficiaries of the program called “Women Entrepreneurs of Habitat” which has been operating since 2018.
The national director of Habitat for Humanity in the country, Cesarina Fabianexpressed that Dominican women need support to be able to develop their business idea from their homes and for this they provide microcredit to heads of household or single mothers who live in conditions of vulnerability.
She explained that with these resources, women can improve the infrastructure of their homes and dedicate part of it to installing a beauty salon, a grocery store, pastry shop, workshopamong others, thus generating income for their sustenance and that of their family.
Fabián explained that in the program they also provide family financial advice so that they learn to manage the money that comes in through the business.
He highlighted that Habitat, with the support of donors, has carried out since the beginning of its work in 1986 more than 37,500 housing solutions and impacted around 188 thousand people.
