Until the 29th, registration will be open for the Astrominas 2022 project, from the University of São Paulo (USP). 400 places will be offered for girls aged 14 to 17. Places will be distributed proportionally, with 20% for students from black, brown and indigenous groups, 60% for students from public schools and 20% to private schools. 
The activities will be free, from Monday to Friday, with an average duration of three hours per day. The total number of places offered may be increased until the date of the draw, according to the course organization.
The edition of Astrominas will be held exclusively in online format, from the 2nd to the 22nd of July. The course will address issues of Astronomy, Atmospheric Sciences, Geophysics, Geosciences, Physics, Oceanography, Astrobiology, Mathematics and Human Sciences related to gender.
The contents were prepared by more than 60 partner scientists of the project. Confirmed participants will be distributed in WhatsApp discussion groups led by mentors, who may be undergraduate, graduate and scientist students.
The aim of the course creators, women from the Institute of Astronomy, Geophysics and Atmospheric Sciences (IAG/USP) and other exact sciences institutes at the University of São Paulo, is to show that girls can also work and develop projects within the exact sciences. . Whoever performs all the mandatory activities will receive a digital certificate at the end of the course, which will have a workload of 45 hours.
The selection will take place through a lottery on June 11 and the list of winners will be published on the project website, where the regulation can also be accessed.
The Astrominas project is coordinated by Professor Elysandra Figueredo Cypriano. The idea came from researchers from the Institute of Astronomy, Geophysics and Atmospheric Sciences at USP, who wanted to attract more young people to the university. The organizing committee also includes the participation of professor Lilian Maria Soja and graduate students Daniele Honorato, Ivanice Avolio Morgado, Marina Izabela and Pâmela Querido.
