A leak of personal data and sensitive information of citizens would have occurred through public sector platforms, warned the Association of Bank of Peru (Asbanc).
Personal information they include information referring to the identity document, address and even fingerprints and debit balancewarned the business association.
The situation had already been warned by Asbanc in April and notified to the Presidency of the Council of Ministers (PCM).
The issue, according to the union in a letter sent to the head of the PCM, Aníbal Torres, was addressed on April 29 and May 13, since the Association of Banks became aware that the leaked information was being marketed and was available through social media.
Asbanc’s concern points to the fact that personal data may affect “the development of secure transactions”, for which it requested the Executive Branch to take action on the matter and order immediate measures.
