Some of the detainees complained that they were imprisoned even though they live in the country legally.
Yesterday, Haitians practically took control of Ciudad Juan Bosch, in Santo Domingo Este, by completely paralyzing construction and making police and security agents flee the community. Migration who went to carry out an illegal arrest operation.
The undocumented immigrants not only confronted the agents, but they also made them leave with stones, sticks and bottle blows, and in the retreat they followed them until they took complete control of the city’s movement.

Yesterday’s action was criticized by the lawyer Alexis Castillo Pantaleón, who said that “the absence of authority in our own country has reached that point and we see the consequence of that cowardly and irresponsible attitude of the officials.”
He commented that today Haiti is a dissolved state and that what happened yesterday shows that its anarchy and lack of authority are already here.
“In the face of this incident and if there are no consequences, if this government does not show signs of exercising authority, this incident can become a torch,” he observed.
