Maduro: Venezuela does not ask anyone for cocoa

Maduro: Venezuela does not ask anyone for cocoa

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, affirmed this Thursday that “Venezuela does not ask for cocoa from anyone”, in reference to the attacks, sanctions and blockades that it has overcome in recent years.

«They launched all the missiles at us, sanctions, war on the oil industry, they launched all the missiles at us and they could not with us. And we do not ask for cocoa from anyone in this world (…) to the best of our knowledge, a few words,” said the president during the La Hora de la Salsa program that broadcasts Radio Miraflores.

He stressed that Venezuela has recovered and “is going to recover totally and fully in all its social, economic, cultural, educational conditions” with its own efforts.

“Venezuelans need happiness, a smile, a good joke, a good party to be happy. We are very Caribbean in that. Venezuela is recovering step by step with our own efforts,” stressed the head of state.

As part of the government’s recovery plans, Maduro recalled that this Friday the Good Government 1×10 starts, an initiative that will integrate the Homeland System and is aimed at improving care for the population.

With this, Maduro said, Venezuelans will have a tool in their community to solve problems in areas such as health, education, public services, roads, security and others.

“So that they can attend directly and have a way to connect with us so that we exercise government from the communities. Empower people even more,” added the president, who described the 1×10 as “a revolution of good government.”

UNHCR and migration

Maduro announced that the Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, held a meeting with the Director General of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) to coordinate efforts in favor of Venezuelan migrants.

“Much has been talked about migration and well there are people who have used the issue of migrants to enrich themselves, to steal, to ask international organizations for money. The first in turn is (the president of Colombia) Iván Duque, who has enriched himself at the expense of Venezuelan migrants », he said.

He indicated that the national government has filed a complaint to “continue favoring Venezuelan migrants” before international organizations, asking them to support the Plan Vuelta a la Patria to bring Venezuelans back to the country.

“Each plane that we put fills up immediately (…) We have a list of Venezuelans who want to return from Chile, Ecuador, Peru, Colombia,” he added.

In this scenario, he reported that the Vice President “has made the first steps before the UNHCR so that they stop giving money to thieves and put their money to benefit Venezuelan migrants.”
