The Minister of Transport and Telecommunications, Juan Carlos Munozcondemned the aggressions received by the security personnel of the Santiago Metro by street vendors at the Ñuñoa station.
It should be noted that the incident occurred when the guards carried out a control to evict the illegal trade in the station. Nine workers were injured.

“The attacks received by the security team of Metro de Santiago are completely unacceptable. Safe operation requires a space free of street vendors. These actions cannot go unpunished,” said the Secretary of State.
Seeing the record of the incidents, the Minister indicated that “we strongly repudiate the attacks suffered by nine members of the Metro security by street vendors.”
“This is completely unacceptable, we would like to convey our total solidarity with the Metro team, with its officials and especially with those who have been attacked,” he concluded.

Incident
About the incident, Captain Roberto SuarezPatrol Officer of the Santiago Oriente Prefecture, specified that “around 15 itinerant merchants, mostly of foreign nationality, who attacked the group of private security guards.”
The police officers indicated that they managed to arrest one of the 15 involved, who will be handed over to the Prosecutor’s Office for the crimes of aggression and carrying a knife.
