Pope Francis appointed this Thursday the Argentine Emilce Cuda secretary of the Pontifical Commission for Latin America, as a member of the Pontifical Academy for Life.
Cuda, a theologian who since this year shares the leadership of the Vatican organization for Latin America with the Mexican Rodrigo Guerra, will be one of the 52 members of the organization created by Saint John Paul II for the promotion and defense of life.
The appointment comes after Francis appointed Cuda as an ordinary member of the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences last April.
