Promigas and Sumitomo Corporation, a Japanese business conglomerate, signed a Memorandum of Understanding to explore and develop the market for electric mobility with hydrogen in Colombia and Peru. In Tokyo, Japan, the presidents of the companies exchanged memorandums and made the alliance official in an event that included the participation of the Colombian ambassador in that country.

In this alliance, Promigas contributes its experience and capabilities in developing mobility markets with new energy sources, such as CNG for light vehicles, and in recent years with CNG for trucks and with LNG in Peru. Sumitomo brings his global experience in developing markets in energy and infrastructure and his track record in the hydrogen value chain through his portfolio companies.
The alliance contemplates the collaboration in the development of studies to determine opportunities and challenges that the production, distribution, commercialization and use of hydrogen for electric vehicle mobility in Colombia and Peru and identify market segments and companies in the region for the implementation of commercial hydrogen mobility pilots.
