Inapa receives anti-bribery management certificate

Inapa recibe certificado de gestión antisoborno

The National Institute of Drinking Water and Sewage (Inapa) received from the international company Aenor, a certification for compliance with ISO 37001:2016 standards, on Anti-Bribery Management Systems, and 9001:2015, on Quality Management, with which it shows its efficiency and transparency in all the processes evaluated.

Wellington Arnauddirector of Inapa, stated that this initiative to be certified in anti-bribery management is aligned with the vision of the Government of fight corruptionby reinforcing internal controls and improving procedures.

“At first there was a lot of uncertainty about whether we would achieve such an ambitious goal, but today we can say that, after a lot of work, we have achieved it and with satisfactory results,” he explained.

“We are convinced that, by complying with the requirements of the ISO 37001:2016 standard, we have a key tool for achieving this purpose in a sustainable manner”, he assured upon receiving the awards from Ariel Mirrordirector of the certifying house AENOR.

He added that at first there was a lot of uncertainty about whether he would achieve such an ambitious goal. “Today, finally, we can say that, after more than 15 months of uninterrupted work, we have achieved it and with more than satisfactory results,” he specified.

He stressed that in the world little more than 4,000 institutions from the public sector have chosen to take on the great challenge of certifying their quality management system under the requirements of the ISO 9001:2015 standard.

He said that, in relation to the ISO 37001:2016 standard, on anti-bribery, less than 900 companies have been certified worldwide. He cited the case of Latin America, where it has been implemented in countries such as Mexico, Peru, Brazil and Chile.

IQNet is an international certification network that unites more than 40 certifying entities leaders in their home countries. AENOR is a signatory member of IQNET.

While Milagros Ortiz Bosch, head of the General Directorate of Ethics and Government Integrity (Digeig) said she was proud to have been part of this certification process by INAPA from the beginning. “I am happy to know that here what was promised was fulfilled and that the water, more than ever, is going to be clean,” she stressed.
