Ebrard: In the next few hours, Biden will respond to AMLO about the Summit of the Americas

This Wednesday, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador spoke with a representative of the Joe Biden government. Initially it was expected that the dialogue would be face-to-face, however, due to the fact that the adviser for the Summit of the Americas of the White House tested positive for COVID-19, it was carried out through a videoconference in which the United States ambassador also participated. in Mexico, Ken Salazar.

After the call that President López Obrador had with Christopher J. Dodd, adviser for the Summit of the Americas at the White House, the Secretary of Foreign Affairs reported that the dialogue was very good in that the contents that will be discussed were addressed at the Summit to be held in Los Angeles, California, next June.

The president of Mexico took the opportunity to insist that a policy of exclusion not be applied to any nation, as has already happened in other summits and with other former presidents such as Barack Obama.

“The two presidents have a very good relationship and there is a lot of ideological affinity on many issues. So, what the president says is, well, it would be a historic event to hold a Summit in the United States where no country is excluded for any reason. This happens in many fields, so no one should be excluded”, he explained after the meeting, which lasted 40 minutes and was in Spanish.
