With a view to reducing perinatal mortality, the Ministry of Health carries out two programs that also encourage comprehensive care for women and reproductive sexual health.

According to the head of Sexual and Reproductive Health of the General Directorate of Public Health, Geneva González, the plan to reduce infant mortality and comprehensive care for women has continued despite the pandemic. She said that it works very closely with adolescents and adults, “because sexual and reproductive health involves all stages of a woman’s life, no matter if she is reproductive.”

“We have developed two operational plans that cover from 2021 to 2025, which is the National Plan for the Reduction of Perinatal Maternal Death and the Sexual and Reproductive Health Plan,” he mentioned.
Gonzales also mentioned that guides on Gynecological infections were prepared, in the same way the comprehensive norms of women that govern all activities carried out at the national level are being reviewed and the Gynecological Pathology guides are in the final stage.

Finally, he highlighted that advances have been made in the perinatal computer system that is the web page, known by many doctors and nurses as the chick sheet.
