MADRID, Spain.- The United States Embassy in Havana clarified this Tuesday that there will be no immediate changes in the consular services in Cuba.
The consular headquarters noted that White House spokesman Ned Price recently stated that the Cuban Family Reunification Permit Program (CFRP) would be resumed and consular services and visa processing would be increased, making it possible for more Cubans to meet with their families in the United States through regular immigration channels.
However, the entity highlighted, “there is no immediate change in the consular services of the Embassy in terms of processing applications for immigrant visas or other benefits to reside in the United States.”
Via Twitter He also recalled that on May 3, the limited processing of immigrant visas was resumed, giving priority to applications from parents of US citizens. In this regard, he pointed out that those who request this procedure must appear at the Embassy by appointment only.
The Consular Section indicated that it will continue to provide essential services to US citizens and the limited processing of emergency visas for non-immigrants; and that as the Consular Section begins to provide other services in Havana, additional information will be provided through its website.

Recent United States measures towards Cuba
