Four deaths and 3,910 new cases of Covid-19 in the last 24 hours

For this Tuesday, May 17, the Ministry of Health highlights that according to the latest report issued by the Department of Epidemiology in the last 24 hours, 17,618 tests were applied that yielded 3,910 new positive cases throughout the country, which translates into a positivity of the 22.1%.

According to this report, the corregimientos of Rufina Alfaro, Juan Díaz, Ancón, San Francisco and Ocú lead the statistics for today with the most new cases detected. 4 new deaths were registered in Panama, which adds up to a cumulative total of 8,210 people who died from Covid-19 with a fatality rate of 1.0%.

To date in Panama, there are 814,152 accumulated cases of Covid-19 and 780,312 people recovered. Active cases total 25,630 throughout the country, of which 25,406 are in home isolation and 224 hospitalized. Those in isolation are divided into 25,346 at home and 60 in hotels.

Those hospitalized are 189 in the ward and 35 in the ICU. In the world there are 523,491,865 confirmed accumulated cases of Covid19; in addition, of 479,277,723 people recovered and 6,291,455 deaths for a lethality of 1.2%. Updated vaccination report Meanwhile, the Expanded Immunization Program (PAI) reveals in its report this afternoon that 8,167,735 doses against Covid-19 have been applied throughout the country in Panama.
