An average of 75 weekly fines are applied in the corridors.

More than 50 operations between January and April 2022 have been carried out by the National Highway Company (ENA) -in charge of the administration of the corridors-, agents of the Traffic Operations Directorate of the National Police and the Traffic and Land Transport Authority .

According to Dianeth Cupas, Operations Manager of ENA, these inspections that are carried out periodically will continue until June of this year in both the North, South and East Corridors with the aim of detecting users with accumulated pending payments or who transit without a Panapass sticker.

Cupas assured that it is about 5% of users who are delinquent or do not have the sticker, since 95% of clients comply with the rules in the brokers.

He added that drivers who fail to comply are subject to an average of 75 weekly fines.

He explained that the operations last two hours per day and are not carried out during peak hours, when there is greater capacity.

“Each day the operation moves to a different point and it can be in any of our toll booths where the infraction is detected in flagrante delicto and the competent authorities are applying the corresponding sanctions, such as a ticket of not less than ten balboas,” he indicated. ENA’s Operations Manager.

Cupas also added that these joint operations are in line with ENA’s media campaign to encourage users of delinquent brokers to approach the entity through its multiple customer service channels (Línea 192, www.enacorredores .com and whatsapp 6739-5810) and make the corresponding payment arrangement, which are designed according to the capacity of each client.

“Our message -If you don’t pay, we all pay- is to remember that the actions of a few harm the vast majority. What is collected in the tolls of the corridors is fully reinvested in the corridors themselves, in preventive maintenance of the roads, in free road assistance services and the video surveillance system for greater user safety”, explained Cupas.
