“The foregoing, under the principles of international cooperation and reciprocity, with which the official procedure before the jurisdictional authorities of that country is formalized,” Ernestina Godoy, Mexico City prosecutor, reported in a message to the media.
Roemer is accused of aggravated sexual abuse and rape, which the law contemplates warrant informal preventive detention.
Questioned during the morning conference of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, the head of government, Claudia Sheinbaum, affirmed that there is full cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to do justice in the Roemer case.
“He is in fact in Israel, the prosecutor is doing a first-class job, I think, the victims have been supported and in this case, as in other cases, even when there is no extradition agreement, they are working with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from the Prosecutor’s Office and with all the support so that it can be brought to trial in this case,” he said.
