PIT-CNT describes inadmissible situations of bullying, harassment and union persecution in UTEC

UTEC-728x420

A few days ago, the Union of Workers of the Technological University (SITUTEC) denounced serious institutional actions authorized by the Provisional Council of UTEC against the directors of the union.

SITUTEC expressed, through a statement, that “one of the intimidating modus operandi of the government of the institution is deepening: persecuting and harassing the organizations and workers that represent them.”

Persecution and harassment

“These actions of persecution and harassment must stop immediately and the Ministry of Labor and Security must investigate the irregularities in an equitable manner,” said the Representative Board of the union central.

Likewise, it states that the workers, whose contracts were not renewed as a result of “irregular procedures and in accordance with the laws and regulations, be rehired.”

The PIT-CNT demands that Law 19,043 (creating the Technological University) be complied with immediately in its entirety and in all its terms, especially in what refers to the concretion of the co-government. “There can be no instance of changing Law 19,043 with its back to the workers, students and other social actors provided for by said Law.”

Organized workers “cannot be discriminated against and have a treatment that is alien to the laws, rules and regulations provided for all UTEC workers,” the PIT-CNT pointed out.
