Eric Clapton has Covid and canceled concerts in Italy and Switzerland

british guitarist Eric Clapton77, has Covid, for which he was forced to cancel the concerts he planned to perform this week in Italy and Switzerland, as reported through a statement on his official page.

“Unfortunately, Eric Clapton is suffering from Covid having tested (and continues to test) positive shortly after the second concert at the Royal Albert Hall. His medical advisers told him that if he were to travel again and play too soon, he could substantially delay his full recovery. Eric is also concerned to avoid spreading any infection to any of his band, crew, promoters, his staff, and of course the fans.”expresses the text.

On its website, it is made clear that after intense internal discussions, it decided with “great regret and apologies to all concerned” postpone performances in Zurich on May 17 and Milan on May 18; but he hopes to be able to resume the tour starting with the concerts in Bologna on May 20 and 21.

Shows will be rescheduled within the next six months and tickets purchased will remain valid for the new rescheduled date.

Clapton was one of the musicians who during this period protested against the health pass at shows, he was against the obligation to be vaccinated and the restrictions imposed on the movement of people.

This position was reflected, for example, in the song “This Has Gonna Stop” which was published in August 2021 where he expressed his rejection of preventive health measures and the coronavirus vaccine.
