The Ministry of Energy and Mines (Minem) held a new working meeting with union representatives of small-scale mining from different regions of the country (Puno, Arequipa, Ica, Huancavelica, La Libertad, among others), in order to analyze the problems and possible solutions of the regulations corresponding to small-scale mining and artisanal mining.
The team of professionals from the General Directorate of Mining Formalization also participated, led by its general director, Carlos Brañez Tamayo, who highlighted the importance of creating a standard for this mining stratum that reflects the feelings of small miners and artisanal miners, as owners of this activity.

As recalled, by virtue of Law No. 31388, which extends the validity of the comprehensive mining formalization process, it was arranged for the Minem to prepare a project for small-scale mining and artisanal mining, which will be transferred to the Legislative Branch for subsequent deliberation. and approval.
During the meeting, the programming of upcoming work meetings was coordinated to consolidate a regulatory proposal that incorporates different alternative solutions to the problems detected in the development of small-scale mining activities.
