The Ministry of Interior and Police (MIP) started in the sector Christ the King of the National District the first phase of the “A day with the Police” program, through which the aim is to achieve a greater rapprochement between citizens and police officers. The community outreach initiative is part of the Comprehensive Citizen Security Strategy “My Safe Country”, developed by the Ministry of the Interior and Police, whose first phase began in the Cristo Rey sector with the execution of different social activities for the benefit of its inhabitants and surrounding areas.
Said event, which was headed by Vice Minister Juan Manuel Rosario, coordinator of the National District, It included a medical operation at the Santo Socorro Hospital, where a team of 30 doctors from the National Police offered consultations to hundreds of people in general medicine and other specialties, taking blood pressure and blood glucose tests, among others.
Those consulted who were found to have high blood pressure and those who had high blood sugar levels were referred to a specialist to continue their treatment. Meanwhile, those who required medication were given free of charge. Orientation talks were also offered and social assistance was delivered by the different government entities arranged for these purposes.
