The talented Cuban guitarist Héctor Quintana will premiere his new record production, galaxy animalwith instrumental versions of songs by Silvio Rodriguezin a concert at Casa de las Américas.
In the presentation, which will take place next Friday the 27th at 7:00 pm, he will be accompanied by Oliver Valdés on drums, Yandy Martínez on bass, Yoyi Lagarza on keyboards, and Miguel Ángel García on piano.
In the show, Quintana will recreate nine songs from the work of the notable Cuban troubadour and a very special title dedicated to Silvio composed by him, I indicate to OnCuba the renowned producer Enrique Carballea, who was in charge of the general production of the album together with Quintana himself.
Born in 1989 and considered one of the most important guitarists of the newest generations of Cuban musicians, Quintana made his recording debut with the album fingerprintwith 11 songs in which jazz takes on great weight.
In 2011 he won the first prize for interpretation among adults in the Jojazz contest and joined the Jazz Band directed by maestro Joaquín Betancourt, an essential figure in the formation of the new batch of jazz players and musicians on the Island in general.
