This Sunday, May 15, the Modern Revolutionary Party (PRM), will hold its XXI Ordinary National Convention of Delegates, where they will choose their president, vice presidents and general secretary.
In this sense, the National Commission of Internal Elections of the PRM (CNEI), made the call to its 1,256 delegates to meet at the Volleyball Pavilion of the Olympic Center, for voting from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The convention will be supervised by personnel from the Central Electoral Board (JCE), an organization that rose to the request of the party to provide them with support with electronic equipment to hold their meeting.
For the presidency of PRM José Ignacio Paliza, current current president of the party, and Ramón Antonio Liriano are competing, who were the only two people who presented their plates to aspire to that high position in the organization.
The list of Paliza has Milagros Ortiz Bosch, Eddy De Jesús Olivares and Nelson De Jesús Arroyo, to opt for the positions of first, second and third vice-president of the party, in that same order.
While the list of Liranzo has José Batista López, Roberto Denise Pierre and Guillermo Peña, for the positions of first, second and third vice president of the party.
From the general secretary of the party, only one shortlist was presented, which was headed by Carolina Mejía, who is the current secretary general of that organization and also mayor for the National District.
This shortlist is made up of Kelvin Cruz, Lía Díaz and Jean Luis Rodríguez for first, second and third undersecretary, in that order.
The voting modality will be through direct and secret voting, using an automation process in which there will be a record of those participants and with electronic devices the delegates will vote from where a ballot will be issued and deposited in a ballot box.
A total of ten tables will be used for the registration of the 1,256 delegates and they will be distributed according to surnames and after the voting process is concluded, the National Internal Elections Commission will close the process at the indicated time and the voting will begin. count of the votes by table that were made.
The XXI Ordinary National Convention of Delegates will be composed of four stages, in the first stage only the voting of the positions of the presidency, vice-presidency, general secretary and sub-secretaries will be carried out, in the second it will correspond to the second level of choice of the authorities of the zones, municipalities and districts not zoned.
Likewise, the third stage includes the selection of the authorities of the zoned districts and municipalities, the provincial ones, the sectional ones abroad, the sectoral fronts and at the end of all these processes, the fourth and last stage will be carried out, which will be the realization of a Ordinary national convention where those chosen throughout the process will be ratified and the bodies of the national committee among others will be completed.
The convention will be held in honor of José Rafael Abinader Wassaf, father of President Luis Abinader.
