Industrial activity grew 2.4% at an annual rate in March

Manufacturing industries had the best performance, with a growth of 3.5%, compared to March last year, followed by generation, transmission and distribution of electric power, supply of water and gas through pipelines to the final consumer 2.2% and construction 1.1 %.

Mining contracted 1%, detailed the National Institute of Statistics and Geography in a statement.

Compared to February, industrial activity registered an increase of 0.4%.

By sectors, the Inegi document details, construction advanced 3.7%, generation, transmission and distribution of electrical energy, supply of water and gas through pipelines to the final consumer 2.3%; mining fell 0.6% and manufacturing fell 0.2%.
