The Student Center of the National Institute (CEIN) reported that they will stop taking over the establishment due to “serious acts of violence” recorded inside the school.
The students detailed in a statement that on Wednesday night there was “throwing of Molotov cocktails inside the school, burning of documents, burning of uniforms, vandalization of the central hall, different rooms and departments.”
In addition, they point out that a “barricade was also made in the corridor where most of the people in the occupation slept, who must have pulled out of the smoke.”
“This totally diverts the purpose of the occupation and does nothing but dirty the mobilizations of the entire community (…) After a long reflection, it was concluded that the security of the occupation was totally violated and that currently the same it was not sustainable”, sentenced the students of the National Institute.
The CEIN stressed, yes, that “this in no case means an act of surrender, since the week of taking over was fruitful and the agreements reached were satisfactory.” And they added that a new ratification will be made in the next few days.
“If this vote is in favor of the takeover, the retake of the high school will take place, but not before Tuesday,” they added.
And they concluded: “we hope the situation is understood by the community, since the people involved in the occupation were overwhelmed and we believe it is optimal to stop the occupation for the time being so that the community itself does not continue to be damaged.”
