The political leader Nicmer Evans left a group of concrete approaches through which, in his opinion, the reconstruction of Venezuela must pass, among which productive guarantees, decent wages, education, constitutional reforms and freedom of expression stand out.
The political leader and president of the Movement for Democracy and Inclusion (MDI), Nick Evansinsisted this Friday on the holding of primary elections, in a double round, to define the opposition leadership for the 2024 presidential elections.
During his right to speak in the session of the Mercosur session before the European Parliament in which various Venezuelan political leaders met, the leader defended that these elections “would give legitimacy to the Venezuelan political class.”
In the same way, Evans pointed out that there is an urgent need for a “true space for union among equals, with the greatest possible plurality, something that the so-called Unitary Platform does not express today, nor any other instance in Venezuela.”
In this sense, he reiterated his call for primaries organized by the opposition itself, among which he cited actors such as the Andrés Bello Catholic University (UCAB) and Súmate; to provide the greatest confidence and clearly assume the electoral path.
Likewise, he questioned the fact that representatives of the Venezuelan political class can only meet at the invitation of the European Parliament, despite being all in Caracas; At the same time, he reproached the fact that “egoism and vanity continue to prevail”, also stimulated by the autocracy to divide them even more.

On the other hand, Evans also took the opportunity to make it clear that the great effort to convene the Recall Referendum against the administration of Nicolás Maduro, at the beginning of this year, “was aborted because despite the great work of articulating forces, more selfishness, maneuver and late political calculation could.”
