Nicolás Maduro and Chavismo achieved a broad triumph in the election results that have taken place this Sunday in Venezuela. The National Electoral Council announced the results with 90.21% of the votes counted, giving the victory to PSUV in 20 of the 23 governorates that were at stake, so once again it was clearly imposed in the country.
The participation of 41.8% of the total census – about 8.1 million of the 21 million called to vote –It reflects the large percentage of abstentions -58.2% – that has occurred after several opposition parties encouraged it in the previous days. This indecision further favored Maduro’s triumph.

United Socialist Party of Venezuela of Nicolás Maduro he won in 20 of the 23 governorates that were at stake in these elections, all except the stadiums of Zulia, Nueva Esparta and Cojedes. These three regions were brought together by the opposition formed by the Mesa de la Unidad and Fuerza Vecinal parties.
In addition to the 20 governorates achieved, Nicolás Maduro’s PSUV also won the key mayoralty of Caracas, the country’s capital.
