A video that records Kindergarten educators calming boys and girls to the rhythm of a children’s song in a garden in the town of La Victoria – in Pedro Aguirre Cerda (PAC) – in the middle of a shooting went viral during this day.
Yesterday (Thursday) a 19-year-old boy died as a result of a bullet impact in the same event that is recorded in the kindergarten.

In the video you can see children between 2 and 5 years old, who are lying on the ground as a result of the shots that were fired outside.
The nursery educators, to calm the girls and boys, sang in chorus “get out the bunny, from the evil hunter. A white bunny is sleeping, the hunter is coming and wants to catch it. Get out the bunny”, while some covered their ears due to the noise of the bullets.

“Something like yesterday, had not happened so close to us. Unfortunately, we have had to make these protocols. For us it is painful, and disturbing. I hope we never apply it, but we have to protect children to prevent it,” said the educator in Infants of the Our Lady of Victory Garden, Rossani Lagosa Radio Biobio.
Regarding the protocols, Lagos pointed out that “we have to make it the friendliest (…) It is not that they know, but they feel it because they are very sensitive. Some covered their little ears so as not to feel the noise, it was strong for my companions” .
In addition, he stated that many of the children are already aware of the shootings that occur in the population. “They are not oblivious to everyday life, they constantly report things because they know that something is happening that is not normal,” she added.
Finally, he argued that the kindergarten is part of a community group whose purpose is to be a support and safety network in the population.
“It is understandable that many want to leave the population, because they consider it a risky area. But we believe that we have been blessed, because the community supports us and recognizes us. We are happy,” she concluded.
