After a hearing of approximately 8 hours, it was determined that the Justo & Bueno company could have a deadline to present a salvation proposal.
The debts amount to more than 170,000 million pesos and due to their failure to present a plan to solve them, their liquidation was announced.
However, the process of removing administrative positions was also initiated from the beginning of 2022.
Justo & Bueno waited for the rescue injection promised by the Chinese fund Joining Futures Capital International, which would be its new owner.
However, this never came, thus causing the decision to liquidate the company due to its debts and non-payment.
“We deeply regret that the payment has not been made as promised by the new owner to the collaborators, lessors and creditors. By virtue of our unfeasibility analysis, it is our duty to request the opening of the (liquidation) process, acting responsibly”, they had announced in a statement.
They won’t close at all
Through the hearing presented there were divided opinions, suppliers and tenants requested immediate liquidation and on the other hand the employees, who requested a solution.
Therefore, it was determined that the company will have 30 days to specify a salvation plan that manages to settle the debts and continue with the company.
Likewise, employees may continue with their contract and work presented in the company. This, although many stores in the country have closed.
The administrators continue to be removed from their position, the lawyer Claudia Álvarez is the leader during the process of saving the Justo & Bueno chain.
